Brucie's Bike Shop Kendal

Here at Brucie’s we try and do things a little differently

Workshop and Wheel-Building

Wheel Building / Custom hoops

Here at Brucie's Bike Shop we don’t just offer custom-built bikes. We also specialise in wheel-building. As with the bikes, you tell us what you’re looking for in a wheel, and we will help you to choose the right rims, spokes, spoke count and hubs. Wheel-building is an art form, and with many wheels being machine-built now, it's a skill that is slowly disappearing from many bike shops. We like to think we are keeping it alive. If you're in need of a wheel-build, or a re-spoking and truing, just give us a shout.

Custom wheels, and repairs to old and tired wheels, is something that we have been perfecting for years. Not just for the years that the shop has been open, but from the early days, when Bruce used to race and had to look after his own wheels. Back in the days before factory-built wheels. Between Bruce and Tony, they have over 60 years of wheel-building experience.

Pop in, or contact us through the usual channels, to have a chat and see what we can do to get you that perfect set of wheels.

Workshop - Repairs

Tinkering with bikes is in our blood (along with a fair amount of GT85 no doubt). So when it comes to mechanics on the bike we'll get you up and running in no time. We try to have a quick turn around time on repairs so that you can get back out on the bike ASAP!

We keep in stock a range of good-value budget components and spares. Our suppliers, though, can supply whatever components you desire. So if you are a Campagnolo Super Record fan, or if you prefer the value and reliability of Shimano 105, we can obtain whatever you want.

All-weather protection for bikes awaiting, or having just received, attention in the workshop.
